Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated Nuclear Medicine Radiographer/Technician to work in our busy department in York. York is a wonderful city within North Yorkshire, an area renowned for its beaches, National Parks, and history. This role is suitable either for experienced Nuclear Medicine Radiographers / Technologists as a Band 6, or for those new to the modality, where full training to the level of Specialist will be given as a Band 5 (with uplift to Band 6 after successful completion of the Band 5 - 6 run-through competency process). Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at our York site. Remote interviews will not be available.
As part of the Nuclear Medicine team, you will work in our Nuclear Medicine department and radiopharmacy.
Responsibilities
* Manufacture radiopharmaceuticals under section 10 of the Medicines Act.
* Perform quality control testing of NM equipment.
* Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients via various routes.
* Provide a safe, patient-centred service, working within the standard operating procedures for both nuclear medicine and radiopharmacy.
* Adhere to IRR17 and IR(ME)R2017 regulations.
* Depending on experience, authorsise certain nuclear medicine requests under delegation of the ARSAC Practitioner.
* Support advanced practice and participate in a competency-based run-through to progress from Band 5 (Preceptor) to Band 6 (Specialist).
* Engage with opportunities within Radiology to undertake funded postgraduate study in all modalities.
* Participate in staff development, mentorship, and assessment activities; support students from the Universities of Leeds and Hull.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience as a Nuclear Medicine Radiographer/Technician (Band 6) or for those new to the modality with training planned to Specialist level (Band 5 with uplift after competency).
* Willingness to work in a multi-disciplinary team and support a high-quality, patient-centred service.
