Job Title: Infrastructure Analyst (VMware)
Location: Coventry (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)
Contract: 6 Months++
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Analyst (VMware) to join a dynamic platform team supporting a large-scale enterprise environment.
You will play a key role in managing, maintaining, and improving a complex virtualised infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
This position requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, a collaborative approach, and an eagerness to contribute to process improvements and platform efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical support and incident resolution for production VMware environments.
* Manage, maintain, and patch virtualised infrastructure (vSphere, UCS, HPE).
* Perform technical tasks such as resource allocation, storage management, and backup configuration.
* Use vRealize Operations Manager to monitor and optimise infrastructure performance.
* Support disaster recovery and business continuity using VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM).
* Work with storage technologies such as IBM Block/File Storage, Spectrum Scale, and Dell VxRail.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure automation, scaling, and performance improvements.
* Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures.
Core Technical Skills
* VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN
* vRealize Operations, vRealize Automation, vRealize Log Insight
* Cisco UCS, HPE Blade infrastructure
* Backup tools (Commvault preferred)
* Scripting and Linux command line familiarity
* Understanding of Agile delivery practices
Experience & Attributes
* Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting virtualised infrastructure in enterprise environments.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex technical issues.
* Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
* Collaborative and proactive mindset, continuously seeking efficiency improvements.
* Experience working with infrastructure monitoring tools (SolarWinds, AppDynamics, Datadog).
