Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Carers, Support workers, Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing high-quality care to seniors, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia. This role involves supporting patients in various settings, including nursing homes, care homes, and assisted living facilities. The Healthcare Assistant will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through attentive and personalised care.
Responsibility includes Provide direct patient care, assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal in their homes or care facility
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor patients for any side effects or changes in condition.
* Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring the safety of patients during heavy lifting tasks.
* Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
* Engage in behaviour management techniques to support residents with challenging behaviours.
* Maintain accurate records of patient care and communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding any concerns or changes in patient status.
* Support residents with Alzheimer's and dementia care, providing companionship and emotional support.
* Assist in case management tasks, coordinating services to meet the needs of patients effectively.
* Support patients to appointments or activities as required
Requirements
* Previous experience in a nursing home or care home setting is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with hospice care practices is an advantage.
* First aid certification is preferred to ensure safety during patient interactions.
* Strong understanding of senior care principles, including medication administration and patient care techniques.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist patients with mobility challenges.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
* A caring attitude towards elderly individuals and a commitment to enhancing their quality of life through compassionate caregiving.
