The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant with strong audit experience to join our team. This is a hands-on role offering a mix of audit and accounts preparation. The opportunity is to join a successful growing practice with a bright future. The successful candidate should feel comfortable drafting accounts and contributing to audit work.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage audit assignments from planning through to completion
2. Prepare statutory accounts for a range of clients (limited companies, partnerships, sole traders)
3. Review work prepared by junior staff and provide guidance and mentorship
4. Liaise directly with clients, building and maintaining strong relationships
5. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards
6. Assist with corporation tax computations and returns
Requirements
7. ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
8. Minimum 5 years of experience in practice, including audit
9. Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102 and auditing standards
10. Experience managing audit assignments and leading small teams
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
12. Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple deadlines
13. Good working knowledge of accounting software ( Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
Desirable
14. Experience working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses
15. Exposure to cloud accounting systems and digital tools
16. Interest in business advisory and client relationship development
