The Job Shaping and executing against a Data Strategy is a core part of achieving the Companies product and commercial goals. As our Head of Data you will own the Data Strategy and lead our team of data scientists, engineers, quality analysts and architect. Reporting into the CTO, you will be a key senior leader in the business with an equal mix of leadership and technical responsibilities. A typical day might include: Enablement of our data team by spotting opportunities and bridging across teams Acquiring world class talent to grow our data team capability Line management and mentoring of the data team Facilitation of architectural discussions for our data platform Guiding decisions on the best techniques to be applied to varying datasets and scenarios Establishing a framework of idea to experimentation and production workload Getting “hands on” if needed with some pairing or review (off the critical path) About You Essential Demonstrable background as an individual contributor You have built and retained excellent teams Proven track record of transforming organisations to data driven decision making Proven track record of building data driven consumer products Proven track record of dealing with data architecture, quality and governance. An expert in at least two of these areas and competent in the rest [collection, ELT / ETL, cleansing, analytics, features, aggregation, machine learning and deep learning] Experience of working iteratively from idea to production solution Critical thinking on when to build vs buy Desirable Experience of taking teams from start-up to scale-up You show the behaviours of a Transformational Leader (visionary, intellectually stimulating, individualised consideration and a role model) You can tell the right stories to inspire and influence people, getting them behind your vision You are excellent at joining the threads across multiple teams to capitalise on opportunities Cloud native in AWS or GCP
