1. Develop and implement plans to achieve the clients purchasing strategy for the department
2. Identify, evaluate and develop suppliers to meet the current and future needs of the business
3. Identify areas of risk in the supply chain, effectively prioritise, develop and implement plans to mitigate such risks
4. Manage supplier performance by way of recognising both positive and negative achievements and communicate effectively to promote the pursuit of excellence and best practice both internally and externally
5. Continuously benchmark suppliers, analyse pricing trends and utilise cost models to defend against price increases, achieve price decreases and best value/total cost of ownership solutions
