Salary up to £75,000 DOE, Relocation Allowance up to £5,000 and Welcome Bonus up to £5,000
For over 100 years, Straid Vets has proudly served our community with compassion and dedication. We're known for our loyal clients, long-standing team members, and a genuine family-like atmosphere. Our supportive environment is built on strong working relationships, mutual respect, and plenty of laughter along the way. We're now looking for a confident and caring Veterinary Surgeon to join our close-knit team.
A Practice Designed to Help You Thrive
Our practice is well-equipped to support you in delivering exceptional care. You'll find a cosy reception area, three consultation rooms, separate dog and cat wards, a prep and dental area with dental X-ray, a fully equipped theatre, dedicated X-ray room, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, and all the tools you need to perform at your best. We also make sure our team has the space to unwind with comfortable communal areas, a quiet office for admin, and a weekly delivery of fresh fruit and snacks plus endless tea and coffee.
A Diverse and Rewarding Caseload
You'll enjoy a healthy mix of consultations and surgeries throughout the week, treating a wide range of patients including cats, dogs, rabbits, and small furries, with the occasional exotic guest such as snakes and lizards. Alongside routine procedures like spays, castrates, and lump removals, we also undertake orthopaedic and advanced soft tissue surgeries. If you have a special interest in orthopaedics or hold (or are working towards) a certificate, you'll find plenty of opportunities to put your skills to use.
Freedom to Grow and Innovate
At Straid Vets, we believe in clinical freedom and encourage innovation. If you have ideas for expanding our services or wish to pursue further qualifications, we're here to support you every step of the way. We hold regular team meetings and informal catch-ups to share ideas, celebrate successes, and maintain our collaborative spirit.
Support and Collaboration
Our small but mighty team includes 4 Vets, 4 Nurses & Animal Care Assistants, and 4 Receptionists who work closely together to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. Our RVNs are fully involved in daily procedures and nurse consults, creating a truly team-based approach to care. We also collaborate with other IVC practices, giving you the chance to gain insight from other certificate holders and broaden your caseload variety.
A Practice with Heart
We're passionate about supporting our local community, regularly partnering with charities such as Alley Cat Rescue and Cats Protection to help animals in need. It's part of who we are, a team that genuinely cares, both inside and outside the clinic.
