Maintenance engineer
Salary: £49,500-£51,000
Location: Wrexham
Working Pattern: 4 on 4 off (2 days / 2 nights)
gap technical is proud to be representing a leading FMCG/food manufacturing business in its search for Maintenance Engineers to join a modern production facility near Wrexham.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond promptly and effectively to equipment breakdowns to minimise disruption to production.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and implement corrective actions for recurring faults.
* Prioritise maintenance activities within your designated production area.
* Diagnose faults efficiently using technical documentation and machine history.
* Work collaboratively with production teams to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
* Support and train operators in basic maintenance tasks and assist with more complex repairs when required.
* Maintain machinery in line with safety, quality, and operational standards.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and improving reliability.
Candidate Requirements
* Completed a time-served engineering apprenticeship (preferred).
* Multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias.
* Previous experience within food, FMCG, or packaging manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
* Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
