Psychology Graduate – SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: Up to £550 per week
Start Date: ASAP (potential to become permanent from September)

Are you a Psychology graduate eager to gain hands-on experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Are you exploring a future career in educational psychology, child therapy, or mental health services?

A warm and inclusive primary school in Stoke-on-Trent is looking for a dedicated Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time, term-time role offers an excellent opportunity for a psychology graduate to gain meaningful, practical experience in a supportive educational setting.

The position is available for an immediate start, with the potential to become a permanent role from September.


Role Overview:

* Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

* Pay: Up to £550 per week

* Contract: Until the end of the academic year (with potential to go permanent)

* Location: Stoke-on-Trent

* Start Date: ASAP


Responsibilities:

* Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and emotional regulation needs

* Assist in implementing personalised learning strategies and behaviour plans

* Work alongside educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and other external specialists

* Support students’ social and emotional development in a nurturing, structured environment

* Gain valuable, practical experience aligned with future training or postgraduate study in psychology, SEN, or therapy


Candidate Requirements:

* A recent Psychology graduate (2:1 or higher preferred)

* Genuinely passionate about supporting children with SEN and their wider development

* Patient, empathetic, and confident in building positive relationships

* Experience in education, care, youth work, or similar roles is desirable but not essential
