Key Responsibilities
Support the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities tailored to pupils' individual education plans (IEPs).
Work 1:1 and in small groups to provide targeted support for learning, communication, and personal development.
Promote positive behaviour and help to create a safe, calm, and engaging classroom environment.
Assist with personal care needs where appropriate (training provided if required).
Use a range of communication strategies, including visual supports, Makaton, or other augmentative methods, to engage pupils.
Monitor and record pupils' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/carers as required.
Contribute to team meetings, training sessions, and the wider life of the school community.
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times.
Person Specification
Essential:
Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN or education setting.
A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to supporting learners with diverse needs.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to promoting inclusion and equal opportunities.
Willingness to undertake relevant training, including safeguarding and personal care
