Overview
We are pleased to offer this Associate Psychological Practitioner (APP)/Mental Health wellbeing Practitioner (MHWP) post within specialist eating disorder services. The post is based at Harvey House, Lancaster and working from Kendal and Barrow, which are the bases for the Bay Eating Disorder Team. The team is part of the All Age Eating Disorder Service which covers Lancashire and South Cumbria and has close links with other locality teams based in the Bay, Fylde Coast, East and West Lancashire, providing multi-disciplinary specialist care for people who have an eating disorder. You will be joining a dynamic multi-disciplinary team of professionals including psychological therapists, a systemic family therapist, specialist mental health nurses, a specialist dietitian and medical professionals.
You will join the team at an exciting time of development as the service works to improve services for people who have an eating disorder. You will benefit from working with an enthusiastic, hardworking and supportive team committed to delivering high quality NICE-compliant psychological therapies to people of all ages with an eating disorder. The post holder will receive regular supervision and professional support from either a psychologist or CBT therapist.
The service is committed to staff training and development and you would be supported to access training in eating disorder specific CBT models, if required.
Responsibilities
* Deliver low intensity CBT interventions mainly focused on eating disorders.
* Offer interventions in both 1:1 and group formats.
* Conduct psychological assessments and develop structured formulations.
* Deliver psychologically informed, evidence-based interventions under supervision of an experienced clinical psychologist/CBT therapist.
* Provide CBT-informed guided self-help for eating disorders and co-facilitate CBT groups for eating disorders.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Suitably qualified Associate Psychological Practitioner, who has completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Associate Psychological Practitioner (PGDip APP) and Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner (MHWP) training.
* Post holder will be required to undertake enhanced DBS clearance. Pre-employment checks may require payment of DBS fee (£50), with deductions from the first 3 months’ salary.
