About the role
We’re looking for a Health & Safety Specialist to help drive a positive, sustainable safety culture across the Halfords Group. You’ll take an active role in upskilling Colleagues, driving cultural change, and ensuring our safety processes are consistently applied to the highest standard.
This role suits someone who can demonstrate initiative and deliver on key projects whilst portraying real ownership of health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the completion, implementation and ongoing review of Group-wide health and safety risk assessments and safe systems of work.
* Work closely with the Learning and Development team to create and improve online health & safety training content.
* Contribute to the development, rollout, and ongoing improvement of Group-wide health & safety strategies, policies, and procedures.
* Periodically visit local Halfords locations to engage with Colleagues to verify risk assessments, safe systems of work and training material.
* Always portray the correct safety behaviours and elevate matters to Health and Safety Business Partners or Operational Leaders when required.
* Support Senior Health & Safety Business Partner in building strong relationships with key stakeholders within the wider Halfords Group.
* Play a key part in delivering the Halfords Group Health & Safety Roadmap.
Qualifications
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
* Experience in a health & safety advisor or coordinator role.
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (NVQ 5) is highly desirable.
* Experience in producing risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
* Experience in creating and delivering training materials is desirable.
* Flexible, proactive, and comfortable working in a varied environment.
* Proven ability to portray safety behaviours and identify risk.
