We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our dynamic service, passionate about making a difference in cancer care and supporting people to live well with and beyond cancer, including towards end of life.
The Oncology and Haematology Psychology Service is part of the growing Clinical Health Psychology team, working with individuals affected by physical health conditions or diagnoses. The role offers opportunities to provide psychological support in inpatient settings and observe qualified psychologists in therapeutic sessions.
Applicants must provide an immunisation and vaccination report from their current UK occupational health provider or GP. Previous applicants need not reapply.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in psychological assessments and interventions for patients and families under supervision.
2. Support the referral process, manage data sets, liaise with referrers, and produce service reports.
3. Coordinate and deliver training to health professionals and present at information sessions.
4. Gather patient feedback and contribute to developing psychologically focused care.
5. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
The role includes supervision from qualified psychologists and access to peer supervision. The closing date will be as soon as sufficient applications are received, so early application is advised.
