Buyer – Roofing & Façades
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Buyer with a strong background in roofing and façade systems to manage the procurement of materials, subcontract services, and specialist components for construction projects. The role requires close collaboration with commercial, project, and site teams to ensure cost-effective purchasing, timely delivery, and compliance with technical and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Procure roofing and façade materials, systems, and associated subcontract packages in line with project requirements
*
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers within the roofing and façade sector
*
Prepare and issue enquiries, analyse quotations, and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
*
Place purchase orders and ensure materials are delivered on time and to specification
*
Monitor market trends, material availability, and cost fluctuations to mitigate supply chain risks
*
Work closely with project managers, estimators, and commercial teams to support budgets and programmes
*
Ensure compliance with contractual, quality, sustainability, and health & safety requirements
*
Resolve supply issues, discrepancies, and non-conformances efficiently
*
Maintain accurate procurement records and reports
Required Experience & Skills
*
Proven experience in a Buyer or Procurement role within construction
*
Essential: Strong knowledge of roofing and façade systems (e.g. cladding, rainscreen, membranes, insulation, glazing interfaces)
*
Experience dealing with specialist subcontractors and material suppliers
*
Excellent negotiation and commercial awareness
*
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
*
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
*
Proficient in procurement systems and Microsoft Office
Desirable

Experience working on large-scale commercial or residential construction projects
*
Knowledge of supply chain management and framework agreements
*
Relevant qualification in construction, procurement, or supply chain management

Salary
£40,000 – £60,000 per annum, depending on experience
