The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop our talented team working across Fire Detection, Voice Alarm, Suppression, and Installation disciplines.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your technical expertise will combine with strategic planning to drive performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement. You’ll play a key part in shaping the future of our engineering function, mentoring people, delivering technical solutions, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance.
What You’ll Do
* Act as a technical leader, supporting complex challenges in the field while developing the team’s capability.
* Mentor and coach engineers, setting high standards and driving professional growth.
* Oversee and optimise use of technical platforms (SimPro, Nimbus, CLSS, Siemens Remote).
* Work with schedulers to ensure effective engineer deployment and maximise first-fix success.
* Lead contract mobilisations and carry out regular efficiency reviews.
* Plan recruitment needs, lead interviews, and oversee onboarding and training programmes.
* Maintain and update the Skills & Grading Matrix and training plans.
* Deliver technical training and mentoring to support apprentices and career progression.
* Carry out audits, investigations, and ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
* Manage monitoring platforms to ensure accurate reporting and fault detection.
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience in technical roles (fire detection, security systems, or related fields).
* 5+ years’ experience managing engineering teams.
* Strong background in technical training, team development, and field support.
* In-depth knowledge of fire detection systems, aspiration systems, and voice alarms.
* Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with hands-on experience.
* Proficient in Nimbus, CLSS, and Siemens Remote platforms.
* Clear and confident communicator who can simplify complex information.
* Highly organised, resilient, and able to balance office and field responsibilities.
* Comfortable using MS Office and working under pressure with multiple priorities.
