GEOGRAPHY TEACHER
Location: Aylesbury
Start: September 2026
Full Time: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £29,344–£44,919
Students often learn facts about places, but don’t always understand how they connect.
Your role is to help them see the bigger picture.
As a Secondary Geography Teacher, you will teach KS3 and KS4 students how environments, people, and processes are linked, using clear, structured lessons that build understanding step by step.
Key responsibilities
Teach Geography across KS3 and KS4
Deliver lessons on physical and human geography topics
Support students with map skills and data interpretation
Develop structured written responses
Prepare students for GCSE exams
Track progress and provide targeted support
Maintain consistent classroom routines and expectations
The classroom environment
Lessons are clearly structured and well paced
Students understand how topics connect
Behaviour is calm and consistent
Learning builds progressively over time
Skills and experience
Experience teaching Geography or strong subject knowledge
Clear explanation and communication skills
Strong classroom management
Organisation and planning
What success looks like
Students explain ideas using evidence
Written work becomes more structured
Confidence in the subject increases
Progress is visible across all ability levels
QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with Geography, environmental, or humanities backgrounds
