About the role
As a senior product designer at the UK's largest supermarket, you'll be crafting experiences that help millions of people shop better!
You'll help discover new opportunities, providing intuitive and crafted solutions that improve every stage of a customer's shopping journey.
You'll also understand business goals and user expectations, helping build design solutions that exceed both, and you'll become a guide in testing, iterating, and improving your work and processes.
You'll collaborate with top UX and UI designers, researchers, UX writers, service designers, data analysts, product managers, and developers.
Responsibilities
* Leading projects from start to finish, transforming complex colleague experiences into simple, intuitive solutions.
* Owning the end-to-end design process: from identifying problems and prioritizing opportunities to exploring solutions, prototyping, and user validation.
* Championing human-centered design and demonstrating its value to partners and the wider business.
* Working within and across Agile squads to enhance user experiences across digital products.
* Partnering with Product Managers to understand user problems and develop testable hypotheses.
* Conducting discovery and validation research with users, including interviews, A/B testing, usability testing, and surveys.
* Collaborating closely with UI designers, researchers, engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders.
* Using data insights and working with analytics teams to inform your design decisions.
* Applying inclusive design principles and adhering to W3C accessibility guidelines.
* Creating UI designs and prototypes using Figma and the Digital Design System.
* Delivering high-quality, consistent work efficiently by leveraging the Digital Design System.
* Collaborating with the design system team to evolve the system based on user needs.
Minimum requirements
* 5+ years of product design experience.
* A strong portfolio demonstrating experience in design thinking and expertise across web, adaptable, and native apps.
* Passion for solving business and user problems, balancing strategy, research, information architecture, interaction design, and accessibility.
* Deep understanding of the iterative design process, including research, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, and user testing.
* Proficiency with Figma, Miro, and other industry-standard tools.
* Experience designing for web (desktop and mobile) and native applications.
* Experience working with design systems.
* Ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to inform decisions.
* Experience designing with accessibility in mind, meeting WCAG 2.1 level AA standards.
* Experience conducting user research, including interviews and usability testing.
* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
* Ability to mentor junior team members.
* Self-motivated, organized, with good time management skills.
* Experience in retail or enterprise products is a plus.
* Willingness to travel nationally and globally.
