Estimator Gas and Oil Industry
Location:Ilkeston, Derbyshire
Job Type:Full-Time, Permanent
Are you an experienced Estimator with a proven background in the oil and gas, utilities, or pipeline industries? My client is currently seeking a dedicated and highly motivated professional to join their established and committed team based at their Head Office in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role within a company renowned for consistently delivering high-quality services in the oil and gas and utilities sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing accurate take-offs and comprehensive tender submissions specifically within the oil and gas, utilities (gas, water, power), and pipeline sectors.
* Managing and organising appropriate tender enquiries and documentation.
* Handling correspondence related to tenders efficiently and professionally.
* Ensuring all estimates are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven estimating experience within oil and gas, utilities (gas, water, and/or power), or pipeline industries.
* Strong track record in successful bidding and project acquisition.
* Proficiency in producing detailed tenders, pricing, and rates from first principles.
* Excellent understanding of project management principles, terminology, and methodologies relevant to the oil and gas industry.
* Advanced IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Valid full UK driving licence.
Qualifications:
* HNC, Degree, or equivalent in a relevant field.
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in estimating roles, ideally within site-based engineering environments linked to oil and gas or utilities sectors.
* Demonstrable capability to manage a variety of project estimations efficiently and effectively.

* Strong interpersonal abilities and clear communication skills.
