Role Overview
As a Collections Assistant, you will work with the housekeeping team in a historic setting, helping to preserve the collections of objects, works of art, textiles and furniture that are part of the house’s history.
Responsibilities
* Assist with day‑to‑day cleaning and care of the collections.
* Monitor environmental conditions and report any signs of wear.
* Keep accurate records of collections condition and movements.
* Provide support to Collections and House volunteers when needed.
* Engage visitors, explaining the collections and the care work.
Qualifications
* Good hand‑to‑eye skills and ability to work from ladders or scaffold towers.
* Comfortable working flexibly and adaptively.
* Focus on delivering great service to all visitors.
* Team player, also capable of working independently.
* Well‑organised and versatile.
* Willing to learn new skills and take initiative.
