Project Manager Civils and GroundworksHemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire£65,000 to £75,000 per year, works vehicle or car allowance, 25 days holiday, pensionFull timeA long established civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Hertfordshire is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the operational delivery of multiple projects. The company has a strong reputation for reliable project delivery, high safety standards and long term client relationships across infrastructure, commercial and specialist civils work. The role is a mix of site and office based, with projects located across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Essex, Berkshire and Northamptonshire.
The head office is in Hemel Hempstead.Role OverviewThis position involves assisting with the operational management of several projects or one larger project, ensuring that health, safety, quality and programme requirements are met. The successful candidate will work closely with the commercial team and contribute to tendering, planning and general project administration.ResponsibilitiesAssisting with the operational management of multiple civils and groundworks projectsSupporting health, safety and quality standards on sitePreparing RAMS and Works Package PlansProducing lift plansProducing project programmes and short term programmesPlanning and managing labour, plant and materialsManaging quality processes including Inspection Test Plans and Work Inspection SheetsCarrying out site measuresAttending site, progress and programme meetingsWorking alongside the commercial teamAssisting with tendersMaintaining accurate records and general project administrationWorking between site and office depending on project needsRequirementsMinimum seven years experience within the civil engineering sectorStrong site based experienceExperience working for a contractor or subcontractorRelevant CSCS cardSMSTS or SSSTS preferred, training can be providedConstruction related degree or equivalentFull clean driving licenceAbility to produce and update programmes using MS Project or similarGood communication skills in written and spoken EnglishStrong people management and organisational skillsGood commercial awarenessWillingness to travel between projects and the Hemel Hempstead office, generally within one to one and a half hoursPackageFull time roleStandard hours are ten hours per day, Monday to Friday, with a one hour breakSalary negotiable within a £65,000 to £75,000 packageWorks vehicle or car allowance availableTraining and development opportunities providedThis is an opportunity to join a well regarded and stable civil engineering contractor with a consistent pipeline of work and a supportive team environment.
