and main responsibilities
1. To participate in teaching activities as agreed with supervisors.
2. To adhere to the Trust’s policies, including those relating to mandatory training requirements, clinical policies and dress code
3. To provide medical care and ensure the safety of haematology inpatients, including but not limited to the following duties.
4. To be responsible for medical care at night, including ordering investigations and collating results, and contacting the responsible consultant when indicated,
5. To respond to any concerns or requests for review from the nurse in charge,
6. When on duty, to contribute to a holistic approach to the clinical care of patients, working closely with the nursing team
7. When patients are admitted as an emergency, to make an initial clinical assessment and arrange investigations and initial treatment, discussing with the consultant on-call as appropriate and completing the electronic record,
8. To act as part of the clinical ward team, supporting the nursing staff and assisting in their training and development as appropriate, as well as handing over to the day-time teams in a timely and appropriate manner
9. To support colleagues in Day Care clinical service

Essential criteria
10. •MBBS, preferably with intercalated BSc •An acceptable postgraduate qualification, such as MRCP or equivalent. Candidates who have some MRCP examinations passed but have not completed the full MRCP qualification will be considered. •Advanced Life Support training
Knowledge

11. •Familiarity with the area of study of Haematology •Proven experience in acute hospital setting •Sound knowledge and experience in the management of critically ill patients
