The role – what is it we would like you to do?
Currie & Brown is currently seeking a cost manager to join our Madrid-based team. The successful candidate will support project leaders in delivering high-quality service, achieving successful client outcomes, sharing knowledge across projects, fostering innovation, and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider. Projects include high-tech industrial buildings for global clients, retail fit-outs, residential towers, and government frameworks.
Your core duties will involve:
* Providing accurate cost advice and reporting to clients
* Delivering projects, commissions, and professional assignments
* Setting objectives and priorities proactively, working as a team player
* Maintaining effective communication to ensure project success; liaising with managers for financial control
* Undertaking commercial management services with limited supervision
* Ensuring timely and accurate work outputs
* Supporting the team leader/service leaders in cost management
* Representing the company professionally; engaging with clients to build strong relationships
What skills and attributes are we looking for?
* BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
* MRICS membership (ideally)
* Experience in the private commercial sector, including high-tech industrial, office, residential, hospitality, major projects, fit-out, and refurbishment
* Proficiency in CostX or similar cost planning software
* Skills in sustainability and data analysis, e.g., carbon assessment, Power BI
* Pre- and post-contract experience
* Strong technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills
* Well-organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, disciplined, and commercially aware
* A team player with a positive attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and adaptable
