2nd Line IT Support Engineer
Location: East Grinstead
Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 DOE

Lloyd Recruitment Services is looking for an experienced 2nd Line IT Support Engineer with strong skills in Microsoft 365 and cloud technologies. This is a client-facing role, so excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are essential. The role is well-suited to candidates from an MSP background who are confident working across a range of modern IT environments.
You'll be responsible for delivering 2nd line technical support, managing cloud-based infrastructure, and supporting various IT projects.
Please note: To be considered for this position, you must have hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, particularly with escalated support tickets. A strong background in Microsoft 365 and Azure environments is essential.
Responsibilities include:
Handling 2nd line support requests escalated from 1st line
Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
Managing Microsoft 365 services such as Intune, Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange Online
Supporting Azure services including Azure AD, Virtual Machines, and Azure Virtual Desktop
Administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and endpoint management tools
Managing firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and security platforms (Duo, Meraki, Sophos)
Collaborating with 1st and 3rd line support teams
Assisting with cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and project rollouts
Documenting support actions and following ITIL-aligned practicesRequired skills and experience:
Strong background in Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
Experience with desktop and server troubleshooting in business environments
Familiarity with networking and security concepts
Experience using VMware or Hyper-V for virtualisation
PowerShell scripting is highly desirable
Understanding of backup and disaster recovery systems like Veeam and Mimecast
Use of RMM tools such as ConnectWise, Autotask, or N-able
Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills
Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicleCertifications such as Microsoft AZ-104, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are a plus but not essential.
