Our Shift Electricians are responsible for repairing production and auxiliary machines, especially following breakdowns. They identify improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste (downtime and can loss). They support shift managers in resolving breakdowns and completing tasks assigned by engineering leadership, including Level 1 PPM programs.
Main duties include:
* Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
* Performing mechanical and electrical repairs as required by the engineering team or shift manager
* Detecting early faults and maintaining quality defect systems through zonal ownership
* Completing tasks set by the matrix manager (proactive/reactive leadership)
* Supporting and guiding the mechanical technical team to develop engineering skills
* Addressing problems with production machines that could affect safety or output
* Supporting autonomous maintenance by upskilling operators and updating operational standards
* Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) efficiently according to standards
* Identifying and implementing continuous process and machine improvements
* Owning project themes as assigned by engineering leadership (SMART)
* Innovating machine setups and modifications for better performance
* Handover procedures to incoming maintenance engineers
* Minimizing waste by applying lean principles and maintaining a clean work environment
* Maintaining accurate records in line with company requirements
* Adhering to ISO/BRC standards

This is a rotating shift position working 6am - 6pm and 6pm - 6am, on a 4-week cycle: days for one week, nights for the next, with specific days listed in the schedule.
Professional requirements:
* Electrical apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent experience in a similar environment (essential)
* Minimum 3-5 years experience in manufacturing
Total salary range (including shift premium): £45,000 - £50,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
