As a Purchasing Assistant, you will help to maintain the supply inventory levels and negotiate deals with vendors. The Purchasing Assistant will ensure that purchasing policies and procedures are adhered to, creation andmunication of purchase orders occurs accurately and on time. You will also be responsible for conducting regular priceparisons to ensure that thepany is always getting the best price for each product that is purchased.
Your new role
1. Liaise with other departments, such as production and finance, to ensure smooth procurement processes.
2. Handle enquiries and resolve issues related to orders, deliveries, and payments.
3. Raise raw material purchase orders according to the requirements of the ERP.
4. Send out RFQ to Supplier Base and if necessary, negotiate price and delivery.
5. Use the ERP system in an optimal way to maximise internal transactional efficiency and minimise total costs, contributing to its improvement.
6. Participate in business reviews with the suppliers / customers ensuring that both suppliers and internal requirements are being met.
What you'll need to succeed
7. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a purchasing or administrative role
8. Strong organisational and time-management skills.
9. Excellentmunication and interpersonal skills.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
11. Experience with Sage systems is a plus.
12. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
13. Detail-oriented and meticulous.
14. Strong problem-solving skills.
15. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
16. Proactive and able to take initiative.
