Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading machine‑tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer to lead and support our safety initiatives across Mazak. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, promoting a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement in HSE performance.
Responsibilities
* Lead the implementation and monitoring of HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
* Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
* Investigate incidents and near misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
* Deliver HSE training and toolbox talks to staff and contractors.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with legal and company requirements.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely reporting.
* Support the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills.
* Champion a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across all levels of the organization.
* Report analysis including trends.
* Interrogate root cause of accidents including creation of departmental systems and procedures to prevent reoccurrence.
* Understand and maintain departmental systems, procedures and KPIs.
* Has the ability and willingness to train others on OJT.
* Demonstrate tangible Kaizen based improvement projects for SQDCP.
* Control 5S to a high standard.
Essential Qualifications
* NEBOSH Diploma
* Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant field such as Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or Risk Management.
Desirable Certifications
* IOSH Membership.
* ISO 45001 Lead Auditor.
* Environmental Management Qualification.
* First Aid at Work and Fire Safety.
* Manual Handling Training.
* Formal training in COSHH, Work at Height, or advanced risk assessment techniques desirable.
Experience Requirements
* Typically 5+ years in HSE roles, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity.
* Experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and delivering training.
* Understanding of local and international HSE laws, regulations, and standards and compliance frameworks relevant to the industry.
* Experience of working with certification bodies.
