IMultiply is delighted to be working on an excellent opportunity for a Senior Finance Assistant to join a respected organisation in Edinburgh. This is a pivotal role within the finance team, offering variety, responsibility, and the chance to contribute to strategic decision-making.
The Opportunity
As Senior Finance Assistant, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial input. You’ll play a key role at month-end supporting with management accounts, and provide information as required by the Head of Finance.
You will act as the first point of contact for Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger Assistants, supervising their workload and ensuring accuracy and efficiency. While this role does not include formal line management, you will play a key role in coordinating the team’s activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily finance operations, including cash management and debtor/creditor control.
* Supervise weekly payroll processes, ensuring compliance with tax and holiday calculations.
* Maintain compliance with accounting standards, VAT, PAYE, NIC, and other obligations.
* Supporting with preparing journals, reconciliations, and monthly management reports.
* Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insight and advice.
* Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
The Person
* Degree, HNC/HND in Accounting or AAT qualification required; part-qualified desirable
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, with strong expertise in reporting and payroll.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
* Experience with Sage financial software is desirable.
