Children's Social Worker - Social Care Qualified
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Social Worker to join our dynamic social care team. Key Objectives
* To assess and support the needs of children and families to ensure their safety and well-being.
* To work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, external agencies, and community resources.
* To develop and implement care plans that promote positive outcomes for children.
* To maintain accurate records and comply with statutory requirements and organisational policies.
Main Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough assessments of children’s needs, risks, and family circumstances.
* Develop, review, and monitor care and protection plans tailored to individual cases.
* Provide direct support and intervention to children and families in line with best practice and legal frameworks.
* Work closely with schools, health services, and other agencies to coordinate support.
* Attend and contribute to case conferences, court proceedings, and safeguarding meetings.
* Promote the rights and voice of the child in all decision‑making processes.
* Maintain up‑to‑date case records and prepare clear, concise reports.
* Engage in continuous professional development and supervision.
Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker status (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) with registration to Social Work England.
* Proven experience working with children and families within a social care setting.
* Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, safeguarding procedures, and relevant statutory frameworks.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and professionals.
* Ability to manage complex cases and make sound professional judgements under pressure.
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in practice.
* Competent IT skills and experience using case management systems.
Qualifications
* Degree or diploma in Social Work recognised by Social Work England.
* Current registration with Social Work England.
* Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable but not essential).
