Our cutting-edge X-ray technologies help customers combat terrorism, drug smuggling, illegal immigration, and trade fraud, delivering best-in-class imaging performance and reliability.The Role We are looking for a Tube Assembly & Test Technician to join our team, supporting the processing, assembly, and testing of X-ray tubes for our industry-leading scanning systems.This is a hands-on role within a high-tech manufacturing environment, working with sophisticated vacuum and high-voltage equipment.Key Responsibilities Assemble and test X-ray tubes ready for integration into scanning systemsOperate vacuum bake-out ovens and associated vacuum equipmentConduct tube activation, assembly completion, and preparation for testingPerform high-voltage conditioning and testingDiagnose and rectify vacuum leaksCarry out basic fault finding on tubes, equipment, and vacuum systemsSupport wiring loom build and general assembly activitiesComplete accurate data recording (Excel-based) and shift reportsPerform preventative maintenance on equipment and test rigsRaise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where requiredEnsure compliance with COSHH and health & safety standardsMaintain a safe, clean, and organised workspaceContribute to continuous improvement initiativesKey Requirements 34 years experience in a technical/engineering or manufacturing environmentExperience operating complex manufacturing, scientific, or test equipmentStrong attention to detail and ability to follow defined processesComfortable working with computer-controlled equipment (HMI interfaces)Good team player with strong communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel and basic reportingKnowledge of safe working practicesDesirable (Not Essential) Experience with vacuum systems or high-voltage equipmentBackground in X-ray, medical, or scientific equipment manufacturingCleanroom experienceHelium leak testing or vacuum system maintenanceFamiliarity with quality systems, COSHH, 5S, or Six SigmaExperience using lifting equipment (e.g., gantry cranes)Qualifications ONC/HND in Engineering or Scientific discipline, or equivalent experienceWhy Join Us?
