Huge growth potential and the ideal opportunity for someone looking to take a step up into their first Lead position.The RoleYou’ll lead the design, development, and delivery of electrical and control systems used in complex electro-mechanical products that serve industrial customers across the UK and Europe. The systems are programmed using Schneider-based PLCs, and you’ll play a key role in both supporting live deployments and driving future design innovation.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as technical lead for electrical design and control systems developmentDesign hardware for automated systems including cabinet layouts, safety, compliance calculations, and 2D drawingsDevelop and maintain PLC code and associated control systems (CODESYS, Ladder, FBD, ST)Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate control logic into system buildsTroubleshoot and resolve on-site system issues as needed (UK and Europe travel required occasionally)Work with suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutionsEnsure adherence to relevant safety regulations and compliance standardsProduce and maintain technical documentation, risk assessments, and validation plansYour ProfileDegree, HND or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related disciplineStrong experience in electrical hardware design for industrial machinery (Control panel and cabinet build)Proficient in PLC programming, specifically using CODESYS and Schneider Machine ExpertFamiliar with EU/UK machinery safety and electrical equipment regulationsExcellent communicator with a hands-on, collaborative approachAble to interpret P&IDs and produce clear documentation and reports2D Electrical Design experience - ideally SolidworksWhat’s On OfferCompetitive base salaryAnnual performance-based bonusEquity/Growth share options (post-qualifying period)Matched pension contributions (up to 5%)25 days holidayFlexible hybrid working environmentExcellent professional development opportunities in a mission-driven teamThis is a unique opportunity to join an agile, purpose-led engineering team working on real-world sustainability challenges through hardware innovation.
