Who we’re looking for
* Newly qualified solicitor with a strong background in Court of Protection
* Experience managing or assisting on deputyship matters
* Excellent client care skills when working with vulnerable individuals and families
* Strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and best interests decisions
* Confident drafting legal documents and court applications
* Strong organisational skills and ability to meet court deadlines
* Comfortable working in a paperless environment
* Proficient in MS Word and Excel
* Team player who is self‑motivated and professional
What you’ll be doing
* Managing a mixed caseload of deputyship administration matters, including complex and high‑value litigation award cases
* Working closely with clients who lack capacity, their families and multi‑disciplinary teams
* Advising on applicable law, procedures and legal issues
* Drafting letters, court documentation and tailored legal agreements
* Progressing best interests decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act
* Negotiating with professionals to secure outcomes for clients
* Keeping clients informed regarding funding, insurance, costs and client account monies
* Instructing Counsel and experts where required
* Representing clients in tribunals and court where appropriate
* Supervising and delegating work to administrators and paralegals
