Job overview This role is based within a busy warehouse environment and focuses on delivering a reliable goods distribution service across the hospital. The post holder will undertake a physically active role, ensuring the timely delivery of medical consumables, stationery, and equipment to all departments. The role also involves supporting the Goods Inwards function, maintaining accurate handling of stock, and ensuring all activities meet Health & Safety regulations to support safe and effective hospital operations. Main duties of the job To assist in the efficient, effective and prompt receipt and distribution of all goods and services. Ensuring all goods taken in are recorded sufficiently and clearly in line with the departments goods handling process. To maintain the physical environment of the stores in a clean, efficient and safe way consistent with good warehouse practice. Ensure loaned NHSSC cages are delivered to correct location and returned for collection. Provide general assistance within the Materials Management department as may be required. To undertake any other duties as required by the Materials Manager or Materials Supervisor. To be fully conversant with the Procurement Departments operational policies and procedures to ensure that the receipting is undertaken and stores services comply with these requirements. Provide essential cover for Goods Inwards and Housekeeping stores when required. This involves use of in house systems which full training is provided.
