Purchase Ledger Clerk

Type: Temporary, 3 months
Salary: £13.84 - £15.38 per hour + Holiday Pay (DOE)
We are recruiting a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a reputable business in Newport on a 3-month temporary assignment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1-3 years of purchase ledger experience or an AAT student looking to gain hands-on experience in a high-performing finance team.
You will be part of a busy Accounts Payable department, reporting to an experienced AP Manager. Training will be provided. The role will be office-based for the first month, with the option to work from home afterward if confident in the role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Processing high volumes of invoices and matching them to purchase orders
* Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
* Managing expenses and supporting payment runs
* Handling queries from suppliers and internal teams
* Providing general AP administration and support
About You:
* 1-3 years of experience in a similar finance or purchase ledger role
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
* Confident communicator and team player
* Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
* AAT student or finance/accounting graduate (desirable)
Key Information:
* Start date: Monday 2nd June
* Interviews: Week commencing 19th May
* Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
* Location: Newport (initially office-based, then hybrid after training)
