Role and Responsibilities
The post holder will provide leadership and expertise in the development, coordination and delivery of programmes supporting Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) development, Assistant Practitioner (AP) development, and employability and Young Workforce initiatives within NHS Lanarkshire. This includes creating structured and sustainable career pathways into and within health and social care, building progression routes through apprenticeships, qualifications and practice education, and ensuring the growth and support of the AP workforce. As part of a multidisciplinary / multiagency team, the post holder will manage a highly specialist or complex caseload, using evidence based practice and client centred principles to assess, plan and implement care, provide expert advice and support, operating within a defined specialism across NHS Lanarkshire.

What we’ll need you to bring (Qualifications and Experience)
* Registered Healthcare practitioner with valid UK Registration (NMC / HCPC)
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
* Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge to lead safety, effectively and efficiently
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality
* Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality
* Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement
* Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership
* Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
* Excellent team-working/leadership skills and ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative
* Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
* Note: This may include Independent and supplementary prescribing where relevant to the role
It would be great if you also have:
* Postgraduate qualification in education
* Leadership or management qualification
* Experience of working within Practice development and Practice education
* Experience of working with external partners (HEIs, FE colleges, Skills Development Scotland, local authorities)
* Experience of contributing to regional/national workforce or education initiatives
* Experience of leading or coordinating practice education initiatives for Healthcare Support Workers, Assistant Practitioners, or young workforce and apprenticeship programmes
* Knowledge of Scottish Government policy on Young Workforce, HCSW development and employability
* Knowledge of NES frameworks for practice education and support worker development
* Familiarity with employability work streams and apprenticeship frameworks
* Ability to apply critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis to complex clinical problems
