Your new roleAs an Ecological Consultant, you will join a busy and dynamic terrestrial ecology team based in East Anglia or the Southeast. The role is highly varied,bining extensive field survey work with report writing, clientmunication and project delivery support.
You will spend significant time on site carrying out ecological surveys, particularly during the peak survey season, alongside producing high-quality technical reports and contributing to project management activities. Regular travel and overnight stays will be required, making this role ideal for someone who enjoys working across a range of locations.
You will work closely with colleagues and clients alike, building strong professional relationships while continuing to develop your technical and consultancy skills within a supportive team environment.
What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will need:
1. Previous experience in a similar ecological consultancy role
2. Strong field skills in one or more ecological disciplines
3. A good working knowledge of relevant UK legislation, policy and survey best practice
4. Excellent written and verbalmunication skills, including technical report writing
5. A positive and proactive approach, with a strong desire to develop professionally
6. A degree (or postgraduate qualification) in ecology or a closely related subject
7. Membership of CIEEM
8. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use
9. Flexibility to travel and stay away from home during survey work
Desirable experience includes: project management, protected species licences ( bat, great crested newt or dormouse), ornithological expertise and/or botanical survey skills. Candidates with bird, bat and/or badger experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
