Commercial Analyst – Decommissioning – North Sea
Location: Aberdeen - Hybrid - occasional travel to office.
Type: Contract - £400/Day Inside IR35
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Analyst / Commercial Lead to support North Sea assets, with a strong focus on administration of Decommissioning Security Agreements (DSAs) across existing and legacy fields. The role will act as a commercial focal point for a range of agreements and will interface with internal stakeholders and external operators.
Key Requirements
* 5+ years commercial experience in the UK North Sea
* Hands-on experience with Decommissioning Security Agreements (DSAs), including administration of key obligations
* Strong track record negotiating a range of commercial agreements
* Comfortable working in a small team and engaging with internal/external stakeholders
* Knowledge of North Sea players, infrastructure, and commercial context
* Proactive self-starter with strong attention to detail
Core Responsibilities (DSA-focused)
* Review operator calculations submitted under DSAs, ensuring:
o DSA terms/assumptions are followed
o expert referral is triggered where required
* Manage and coordinate security requirements with local and central stakeholders
* Ensure security is provided and received in accordance with agreements
* Track and update exposure across legacy / previous fields
* Support responses to government decommissioning plans (including letters of support)
* Track and respond to Section 29 notices
* Work with AR local and US teams; provide regular updates on progress and exposure
Additional Commercial ScopeProvide support across a wide range of commercial agreements, e.g.:
* Transportation agreements
* Proximity agreements
* JOA-related matters
* Pipelines / crossings / related infrastructure agreements
Skills
* Strong commercial judgement, analytical capability, and contract interpretation
* Strong stakeholder management and communication (written + verbal)
* Highly organised; able to manage multiple workstreams with accuracy
* Strong Excel / PowerPoint (preferred)
