The role We are seeking experienced Estimators to join our growing Pre-Construction team. You will be responsible for managing the cost estimation process for both Civil Engineering projects and bulk earthworks projects, including initial planning, detailed cost estimation, and bid preparation. The role requires knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and industry standards. Working closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders, you’ll ensure each submission is fully compliant, accurate, competitive, and commercially viable, aligned with client expectations - helping us secure and deliver successful, high-quality projects. Key responsibilities : Preparing detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. Analysing project drawings, specifications, and works information. Managing the cost estimating for tenders, from enquiry to bid submissions. Developing and maintaining strong supplier and subcontractor relationships. Producing clear and accurate tender handover. Supporting process improvement and maintaining up-to-date cost data. Who you are You are a commercially astute construction professional with a strong background in estimating within civil engineering and earthworks. You enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and bring analytical rigour, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset to your work. Key Skills Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management (desirable). Minimum 3 years’ experience in estimating, with senior applicants demonstrating leadership ability. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel. Strong knowledge of construction methods, pricing, and UK highways specification required. Ability to produce BoQs and interpret technical documentation essential. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
