We’re working with a number of welcoming primary schools across Hackney who are looking for a passionate Year 3 Teacher ready to inspire, challenge, and support pupils as they take their first steps into Key Stage 2.
Year 3 is a key transition year, where pupils move into more independent learning, deeper thinking, and new expectations. You’ll play a vital role in building on KS1 foundations, helping pupils grow in confidence, resilience, and curiosity, all within a team that values creativity, consistency, and genuine care.

What you’ll be doing:
• Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons tailored to Year 3 pupils, in line with the National Curriculum • Supporting pupils through the transition from KS1 to KS2, building independence and confidence • Developing pupils’ reading, writing, and maths skills to support deeper learning • Encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning across the curriculum • Creating a positive, structured classroom environment where all pupils feel supported and motivated • Adapting teaching to meet the needs of SEND and EAL learners, ensuring every child can access the curriculum • Managing behaviour through clear expectations, consistency, and positive reinforcement • Working closely with TAs, parents, and senior leaders to support pupil progress • Playing an active role in the wider school community and upholding safeguarding at all times
What we’re looking for:
The right fit for this role will be someone who: • Holds UK QTS • Has recent experience teaching KS2 or upper KS1, with a strong understanding of transition into KS2 • Brings a calm, confident classroom presence, with strong behaviour management • Can support pupils in becoming more independent and resilient learners • Builds strong, trusting relationships quickly with pupils, staff, and families • Is passionate about helping children grow in confidence, curiosity, and capability
