Our Global HR Operations team comprises dedicated professionals worldwide, aiming to deliver best practice HR processes that support the employee value proposition and business strategy through leading HR systems and tools. We support HR Centres of Expertise by operationalising relevant processes and leading the design and implementation of new HR processes, systems, and significant improvement projects. Recently, we have transformed from a systems-led approach to a strategic focus on user experience and service-oriented, user-friendly processes.
As part of the Firms 2025 strategy, the People team continues to invest in developing and integrating systems that support the employee lifecycle, including a multi-year programme to replace our system of record and review other systems and reporting to align with the Firms vision.
In the Global HRIS team, you will oversee the integration of the People Function Technology stack with White & Case solutions and the Technology environment. You will design the HR solutions landscape, plan technology implementations and upgrades, and phase out obsolete tools. Collaborating with HRIS Portfolio and Operations teams, you will build the HRIS release strategy, ensure integration operations, comply with data retention policies, and manage data sharing within the Firms Data Governance framework. You will bring HRIS technical expertise, a focus on continuous improvement, and a collaborative approach to solve complex problems, playing a key role in system excellence and the rollout of our multi-year programme. This role demands system excellence, team management, HRIS operations, and business knowledge to deliver an exceptional end-user experience supporting our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
As the Senior Manager, HRIS Solutions Architect, you will ensure the design, consistency, and operability of our HR landscape, including legacy applications and new solutions like ServiceNow and Workday. You will oversee the smooth functioning of HR systems, monitor integrations with key systems, and implement Firm policies, collaborating with People Function, Technology, Finance, and Data Governance teams.
You will be a key member of the Global HRIS team, working closely with the Associate Director, HRIS to deliver the HRIS strategy, roadmap, and operational targets supporting the Firm's objectives. You will collaborate with peers within the function and across the Firm to improve processes and deliver greater value to users.
Strategic Planning
Evaluating existing systems and recommending upgrades, integrations, or new technologies to improve efficiency and performance
Developing a strategic vision for the solution, aligning it with the overall business and technical architecture
Communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring everyone understands the proposed solution and its implications
Risk Management
Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with the solution, ensuring its successful implementation
Designing and documenting comprehensive solutions, considering various factors like technology, infrastructure, security, and scalability
Implementing a comprehensive testing strategy and associated environment and tools
Designing and implementing an operational framework to manage the quality of our operations and minimise risks potentially impacting key processes such as Payroll, Headcounts, or Billing
Investigating and coordinating the resolution of potential and actual service problems, requesting action from suppliers as required
Workday Architecture Development
Based on the requirements expressed by Centers of Excellence and your own extensive experience of Workday best practices, recommend the development path of our Workday environment and its integrations with the Firms other solutions
When required, explore opportunities to develop the Workday solution beyond the current functionality to adjust Workday features to our specific Legal world needs
Expand our Workday-based applications through Workday Extend
Qualifications and skills
Strong knowledge and understanding of process improvement, performance analysis, standards definition and governance, requirements gathering, system testing, and documentation management
Extensive Workday experience required with a focus on Workday Extend and the development of additional features and applications
People Data Management, including HR database design and administration
Communication & interpersonal skills applying experience of different communication tools and methods to engage and influence senior stakeholders and to give a wide variety of groups a voice
Analytical skills using a range of data and analytical methods to explore stakeholder needs and concerns
Previous experience operating in international and remote-work support model environments, influencing and managing from a distance and across hierarchical reporting lines
Business acumen understanding the Firms business model and areas of competitive advantage
Experience in working internationally and cross-culturally
Effectively managing available resources to meet planned objectives and unexpected challenges

Location & Reporting
This role is based in our London office, and reports into the Associate Director, HRIS.
Our standard office hours are 09:30-18:00, with a current requirement for 3 days in the office per week.
