Are you a Behavioural TA / Support Worker looking for a new opportunity in an SEMH Secondary School in Blackpool? Tradewind is currently working with a 'Good' SEMH Secondary School in Blackpool. The school is looking to recruit a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time, long-term basis. This role is to start in September and continue for the remainder of the academic year. It is a temporary position with the potential to go permanent.
The school is seeking a Teaching Assistant/Support Worker to work 1:1 with a KS3 pupil who has a range of Social and Emotional Difficulties. This is a full-time role, five days per week.
The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Support Worker or Teaching Assistant, with confidence working 1:1 with pupils and potentially running small group interventions. The SEMH Secondary School in Blackpool has excellent access to public transport and free on-site parking. After visiting the school, I was impressed with its state-of-the-art facilities. The school encourages a healthy and active approach to everyday school life and has a welcoming team of staff with a strong and well-structured Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Essential requirements:
* Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning
* Team Teach (not essential as training can be provided)
* Excellent communication and behaviour management techniques
* Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour
* Excellent interpersonal skills based on effective communication
* Passion to ensure every pupil succeeds and reaches their full potential
* Experience with working on a 1-2-1 and group basis
* Aware of personal strengths and areas for development; willingness to listen to, reflect constructively on and act upon feedback from others
* Ability to work confidently as part of a team and independently
