Overview
Maintenance Officer role at TieTalent. 39 hours per week. This is a multi-skilled maintenance position within a care home group supporting 12 care homes across Stockport and Staffordshire. The role focuses on reactive repairs with health and safety and resident wellbeing at the forefront. This is a permanent role offering flexibility and opportunities to contribute to our not-for-profit care provider.
Responsibilities
* Fault finding: identify and diagnose issues affecting buildings and building services.
* Building maintenance: undertake minor repairs and maintenance of the building fabric, fixtures and fittings, including plumbing and joinery.
* Preventative maintenance: carry out routine checks to prevent breakdowns.
* Painting and decorating: perform one-off tasks as required.
* Safety compliance: ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
* Communication: work with the maintenance team, supervisor and care home staff.
* Documentation: record maintenance activities, modifications and repairs.
Essential skills and experience
* Multi-skilling: experience across building repairs, joinery, plumbing and painting.
* Troubleshooting: strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
* Technical knowledge: understanding of relevant regulations, codes and safety procedures.
* Physical fitness: ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various environments.
* Ability to take instruction from the maintenance supervisor to meet agreed time schedules.
* Time management: prioritise tasks and manage workload to complete work safely and efficiently.
* Collaboration: work with the home manager and staff to plan safety of residents during works.
* Health and safety: manage safety around residents and staff during works.
* Training and supervision: assist in training and supervising other maintenance personnel as required.
Expectations and requirements
* Enhanced DBS check is required.
* Must hold a current full driving licence.
* Travel between 10 care homes in Stockport and two in Staffordshire is required.
* A company van is provided to carry tools and materials between sites.
