Contract Business Analyst – Finance Transformation (Retail ERP Discovery) Retail | Outside IR35 | Hybrid (London) | 3 months initial We are hiring for a specialist Finance Business Analyst to support the discovery phase of a finance workstream within a major ERP transformation programme at a prestigious UK luxury retailer. This role is focused specifically on mapping and reimagining retail finance processes ahead of a potential implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O. Key responsibilities: Lead discovery and definition of finance processes across core retail functions (e.g. stock costing, inventory accounting, payments, GL) Analyse and document existing finance operations, interfaces, and data flows Perform impact assessments for changes in costing methodology (e.g. weighted average vs standard cost) Define and prioritise requirements with finance stakeholders using MoSCoW Produce high-quality artefacts: as-is/to-be process maps, business context models, RAID logs, cost of ownership models, and user journeys Identify finance-related quick wins that can be implemented with minimal development effort Collaborate with technical teams, fellow BAs, and business users to ensure alignment Essential experience: Significant finance transformation experience in the retail sector Minimum two end-to-end ERP or finance system replacements Strong understanding of finance operations in a retail context (e.g. month-end close, P&L, cost of goods sold, payment reconciliation) Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX / D365 F&O in a finance context Comfortable leading workshops with senior finance and commercial stakeholders Excellent documentation and communication skills Must be based within a commutable distance of London for hybrid working Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) is strongly preferred Let me know if you’d like versions tailored for job boards, outreach, or CV screening scripts.
