Working Hours:
35 hours per week
06:00 – 14:30, Monday – Friday.
About the role:
As Halal Slaughter Operative, you’ll be culling birds in line with Halal standards (you must fully understand the Islamic procedure and conditions for slaughtering animals). Once Halal slaughter has finished, to operate within the Intake rotation for the remainder of the shift. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf life products where hygiene standards are critical.
* Handling and slaughtering of live poultry.
* The work is repetitive in nature.
* Role involves job rotation; operators must communicate well and work as part of a team.
* FMCG environment, noisy and refrigerated areas, manufacturing short shelf-life products with critical hygiene standards.
* Adhere to allergen controls.
* Wear correct PPE for your area.
* Understand and follow health & safety procedures.
* Understand and adhere to food hygiene procedures.
* Follow company policies and procedures.
* Follow instructions from Section Manager or management team.
* Carry out critical control point (CCP) checks as per training; records must be retained on site.
What you’ll need to be successful:
* Basic communication and numeracy skills.
* Full understanding of Islamic slaughter procedures and conditions.
* No qualifications required; full training provided to obtain WATOK licence.
* Experience in similar roles or food manufacturing desirable.
* Basic Food Hygiene certificate and manual handling training desirable.
* Self-motivated and physically fit.
