Red Sky Personnel are working with a leading UK infrastructure and construction business to recruit a Senior Environmental Advisor. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation delivering complex projects across infrastructure, utilities and environmental sectors.
The Role
You will play a key role in the technical delivery of environmental and hydrogeological services across a diverse portfolio of projects. This includes both office-based technical work and site-based activities, supporting clients through all stages of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver technical input into water environment and environmental management aspects of projects
Support development and implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs)
Undertake and coordinate site activities including walkover surveys, borehole installation and monitoring programmes
Carry out groundwater and surface water monitoring, including quality and level assessments
Support abstraction licensing and regulatory submissions
Deliver Hydrogeological and Groundwater Risk Assessments for permits including landfill and discharge consents
Contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and associated reporting
Support full project lifecycle including proposals, planning, budgeting and delivery
Monitor project progress, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality standards
Provide technical guidance and workload support to junior team members
Contribute to team development, capability growth and business opportunities
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental regulations, legislation and best practice
Skills & Experience
Experience delivering water environment or hydrogeological services within infrastructure, construction or environmental consultancy
Strong understanding of groundwater and surface water processes, monitoring and assessment
Experience with risk assessments, permitting and regulatory compliance
Working knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment processes
Familiarity with GIS, modelling or environmental data analysis tools
Good understanding of UK environmental legislation and regulatory requirements
Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Qualifications
Relevant degree in Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, Geology or similar
Working towards or already Chartered (or equivalent)
Full UK driving licence
