Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and motivated social worker to join our Multi Agency Screening Hub (MASH). MASH is a fast-paced, dynamic environment where information sharing and professional curiosity are central to effective practice. Working alongside colleagues from health, police, education, and other partners, you will triage referrals, assess risk, and ensure families receive the right support at the right time.

This role offers a hybrid working style, based at home and in the busy Multi Agency Screening Hub located at Seymour House. You will work full time, 37 hours per week.

Requirements

You will have a Social Work Degree, CQSW, Dip SW, CSS (with appropriate option).

Responsibilities

You will work under the direction of the MASH Team Manager as part of Dundee’s Integrated Children’s Services; providing advice and guidance, leading and facilitating screening and assessment activities.

Key responsibilities include:

* Triage and screen all incoming child protection and child welfare referrals.
* Analyze risk using professional judgement, statutory guidance, and multi-agency information.
* Assess the appropriate level of intervention.
* Make timely decisions and provide clear evidence-based rationale for all outcomes.
* Liaise with external agencies to gather and share information to inform safeguarding decisions.
* Contribute to the development of best practice within the team and across the service.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.

The Individual

You will have experience of working and communicating effectively with children and families. You should be able to undertake initial and comprehensive risk assessments, work within fixed timescales, and relate positively with colleagues and staff from other agencies, with a commitment to promoting positive outcomes for children and young people.

You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timeframe.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment by Dundee City Council.
