UWE Bristols School of Applied Sciences has a fantastic opportunity for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Fundamental Neuroscience support our undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) biological and biomedical science courses. Youll deliver excellence in teaching on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, together with other related academic roles, including module leadership, and supervision of student projects. We run BSc (Honours), MSci and MSc programmes including in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Forensic Science, and related areas. Research within the School is supported by the

Youll have a PhD in a relevant subject aligned to this area and ideally, you can evidence excellence and expertise in fundamental Neuroscience teaching and research, as well as experience of supporting undergraduate and postgraduate research projects in a higher education context. You will contribute to teaching and assessing on our highly popular Neuroscience and Neuropharmacology module, which contributes to our Biomedical, Biological science and Forensics programs. Other physiology and non-physiology teaching contributions will also be sought depending on the expertise of the post holder, but may include, patient diagnostics and monitoring, regenerative medicine and developmental biology, pharmacology, cell biology, human anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology as examples. You can demonstrate experience of devising and delivering stimulating teaching and inclusive assessments; youre able to lead modules well and successfully supervise student research projects. Youll contribute to the continuous improvement of our Biomedical and Biological programmes and you may also be required to support teaching teams on other related programmes within our School. Youre experienced in leading and motivating groups of people, demonstrate collegiate working and good organisational skills, as well as an appreciation of the value that diversity brings to the student body and workforce. Youll keep abreast of latest developments in this subject area and external best practice benchmarks, and to contribute to equality, diversity and inclusivity and employability initiatives as required.
