Responsibilities
Role purposeThe key purpose of this role is to support Bloom Cafe. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages to our customers, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring a clean and organised workspace.Key deliverablesListed below are the key elements that the role holder will be accountable for delivering:
* Greet customers with a friendly and positive attitude.
* Take customer orders and prepare coffee and espresso-based drinks, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and americanos.
* Serve baked goods, snacks, and other menu items as requested by customers.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, including coffee machines, countertops, and the café area.
* Ensure the proper handling of cash and credit transactions, and provide accurate change when necessary.
* Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure high-quality service.
* Assist in restocking and organising inventory, including coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies.
* Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures.
* Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries, making recommendations, and resolving concerns in a professional manner.

* Previous experience in a coffee shop, café, or food service environment is a plus but not required.
* Passion for coffee and customer service.
* Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanour.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change.
* Ability to work as part of a team and support a positive work environment.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.Desirable skills, experience & knowledgeThe following skills and experience would be greatly beneficial:
* Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 lbs (e.g., coffee bags, milk containers).
