About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join Derby City Council’s legal team.
Candidates should have qualified as a solicitor, barrister or legal executive and possess recent, relevant experience in all aspects of contract law, with a commercial outlook and good knowledge of procurement (particularly the Procurement Act 2023). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. The ideal candidate will be able to start immediately.
Responsibilities
1. Negotiating, drafting, and reviewing a variety of contract documents.
2. Advising on non-contentious contract, commercial, and procurement issues.
3. Supporting corporate procurement activities.
4. Reviewing and advising on tender process terms.
