Operations/Warehouse Supervisor (Temporary - Potential Permanent) Salary: Equivalent to £36,000 per year Location: Harlow Hours: Monday-Friday, 06:00-16:00 (1 hour lunch) Reports to: Operations Manager Contract Type: Temporary - with strong potential to become permanent Overview We are seeking an experienced, hands on Supervisor to act as the number 2 on site, supporting both the operational and administrative functions. You will oversee a small warehouse and admin team, manage daily workflow, and ensure the site operates safely, efficiently, and to a high professional standard. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Oversee daily warehouse and administrative operations. Act as second in command supporting the Operations Manager. Monitor productivity, workflow, and resolve issues promptly. Allocate labour and resources across warehouse and admin teams effectively. Health & Safety (Top Priority) Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and internal standards. Maintain a safety first culture at all times. Complete daily checks, report hazards, and support continuous safety improvement. Systems & Administration Oversee all admin duties, reporting, documentation, and operational records. Use SAP daily for stock, reporting, and workflow management. Use the Roadrunner traffic management system (training provided). Maintain stock accuracy and ensure high-quality data integrity. Team Leadership Lead, motivate, and support a small warehouse and admin team. Conduct daily briefings, ongoing training, and performance monitoring. Communicate clearly across departments to ensure smooth site operations. Continuous Improvement Improve warehouse layout, workflow efficiency, and overall site operations. Recommend and support process improvements. Respond quickly to operational issues to minimise disruption. Skills & Experience Required 3 years' experience supervising warehouse and/or operational teams. Experience managing both warehouse and admin functions. Confident daily user of SAP. Experience with Roadrunner or similar traffic/transport systems (or willingness to learn). Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills. Solid understanding of Health & Safety best practices. Desirable Forklift licence (not essential). Experience improving warehouse layout and operational efficiency. Positive, proactive leadership style.
