Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans while fostering a supportive environment for individuals receiving home care.
Duties
The client you will be supporting is a young girl, who has a learning disability, Autism, sight and hearing impairment, epilepsy, a tracheostomy and PEG in situ and receives overnight humidified air therapy. You will be responsible for: tracheostomy care, overnight humified air therapy, gastronomy care and feeding, medication administration, continence care, bowel management, seizure control and management, care/ use of cochlear device, and some mobility support.
A part of your role will include accompanying her to college too.
* Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
* Implement and follow individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, promoting their mental well-being.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff.
* Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the living environment for all residents.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
* Drive residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safe transportation.
Shift pattern
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
7am-5pm
Experience
* Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential.
* A good command of English is necessary for effective communication with residents and team members.
* Basic IT skills are beneficial for maintaining records and communicating within the team.

Requirements:
* Right to work in the UK
* Ability to complete the physical aspects of the role such as Moving and handling
* At least 6-months of UK based care experience
* Knowledge of complex care is desired
* Are willing to do alternative weekends or 1 weekend out of 4
* All successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check
